Khmer Kitchen Circa 2019 - 2023

December 2019

Conjuring a dream

The dream was born in early 2018, by the time we could put it down on paper and go on a soul search of sorts along with the purpose of finding just the perfect site or the right place to house the dream, we’re at early 2019.

Opened doors

Former playwright, literateur and literary giant, Girish Karnad’s home just fits the brief, we take on what seemed like a giant project and on cue, we hit enough roadblocks, begin our test kitchen and we’re hampered yet again, this time by a raging global pandemic, notwithstanding the same, we finally opened doors on 6th December 2020.

Trials & tribulations

We opened to great reviews, flowers and bouquets whilst still trying to understand the few bricks that came our way, we’ve almost found sure footing and like unexpected showers and torrential rains on parade, we’ve yet another round of fresh lockdowns to deal with. We show a brave face and are back, this time that much stronger in July 2021.

We turned 1

“You don’t realise time flies when you’re having a good time,” they say, must be true, cos’ we’re racing towards our 1st Anniversary on December 6th, 2021. We called all our favourite patrons, friends, family and more importantly the staff to ring in the same with a bash that went on as the night progressed.

We grew albeit

February 2022, we’ve to resort to increasing covers to cater to the ever-growing demands and requests of our wonderful patrons. We can’t seem to keep pace, October 2022 we increase capacity even further by expanding seating, this is a good problem to have.
